It’s Possible to Win: Inspiration from Democracy Fights Around the World.

Join us for the final session in our Unprecedented series as we ask: what can we learn from global fights against authoritarianism? We’ll hear from Professor Esther Solano, a Spanish global politics expert, about how organized communities can thwart the authoritarian advance.  She’ll be joined by Ayala Ferreira, a seasoned organizer and national leader of the Brazilian Landless Workers’ Movement (MST). The session will be hosted by veteran internationalist and labor organizer, Bill Fletcher Jr.

We're providing real-time interpretation in English, Spanish, and Portuguese to ensure everyone can join the conversation.

The spirit of internationalism is essential to understand that we are not alone, and learn lessons and tactics of fighting authoritarianism developed by movements and lawyers from other parts of the world. In this session we will be discussing with an internationalist who will place the advance of the extreme right as a global phenomenon, and a Brazilian organizer who will narrate their successful electoral experience in 2022 and the role performed by popular movements.
